Summer Spotlight: Pauline Reilly

I’m excited to introduce you to another amazing woman in my creative community! Each week this summer, you’ll meet an inspiring creative entrepreneur who’s sharing their talents in a variety of unique ways.

My dear friend and Community Manager extraordinaire, Pauline Reilly, is the focus this week. She continues to expand her creative business in new and exciting ways. Want to meet her?

Pauline has been in my #annesuniverse since 2019. Her story may resonate with you… Pauline had been told back in school that she had no artistic talent so although she enjoyed art a lot, she abandoned all hope of continuing to pursue her creativity and instead got a job in retail.

This happens to so many of us. Either a teacher or a parent says: “You can’t go to art school because you can’t make any money at that…” Luckily, my mission is to find you and help you realize that: It’s Never Too Late To Create®. You do indeed have talent. Your talent is unique to YOU, and now’s the time to express it and share it with the world.

Pauline has been doing that for a number of years now and her talents have blossomed in so many wonderful ways. Before the pandemic, Pauline ran a nail salon in her local town of Harawden, Wales. She expressed her creativity in the shop by creating vibrant the window displays and selling mugs, greeting cards and a handful of apparel products with her designs on them. One of her most popular designs had nail polish bottles on it.

After the shop closed due to the pandemic, Pauline kept moving forward on her creative journey and discovered the Procreate app. It was love at first sight! Being able to create beautiful art on the go gave Pauline’s creative business a new lease on life and she developed an online course called: Procreate Simply. Students love her approach to teaching which is very step-by-step and she provides support after the course ends with a monthly Procreate membership.

She’s a fantastic example of how important it is to diversify your income streams and remain resilient when one avenue of business shifts. She’s expanding her footprint in her local village by selling products that feature local tourist attractions such as the Harawden Castle. Her out-going and bubbly personality has yielded many local partnerships including selling greeting cards through her local post office, and participating in a variety of craft fairs where she showcases tea towels, tote bags and other items perfect for gift giving. It’s wonderful to see how her creative business has expanded over the years. Bravo, Pauline.

Watch this space because… I’m going to meet Pauline in person in September! In the meantime, pop over HERE to her website where you’ll see a variety of her products for sale.

xo,

Anne

MEET ANNE

Hi…I’m Anne!
My creative inspiration comes from a lifetime of observation. I grew up in Paris on the Place St. Sulpice and walked to school through the Luxembourg gardens. And that was only the beginning… Learn more by watching the video on my About page.
